GLOBAL HUNGER CRISIS
An unprecedented 81 million people are in need of emergency food assistance in 2017. The U.N. has declared the global hunger emergency the largest humanitarian crisis since 1945.
WOMEN & CHILDREN IN EMERGENCIES
After floods, earthquakes or conflict, they aren’t just left without shelter and food. They also go without special medical care or defense against dangers like human trafficking.
With emergency-response experts on the ground in 3 state — 95 percent of them citizens of those areas — we provide emergency food, relief supplies, water and sanitation and shelter to survivors.
From Relief to Long-Term Recovery
We respond to dozens of disasters each year, reaching approximately 10K people through our emergency programs.
Our years of experience, expansive global reach and robust network of partners enable us to take a comprehensive approach to emergency relief.
First, we work with communities to prepare for and mitigate the impact of disasters.
Then, we partner with local groups to provide immediate assistance when an emergency hits.
And finally, we work with survivors, especially women and children, to help them recover after the crisis has passed.
Looking ahead, our goal is to create a flexible humanitarian surge fund to enable afifa foundation to respond rapidly and effectively to up to four simultaneous large-scale emergencies, while addressing protracted emergencies. Donate today to help us reach our goal.
